Christmas is coming early this year, Android users.
According to a CNET, Google will announce two new Nexus phones at an event in San Francisco on September 29.
Citing unnamed sources, the publication confirms that the company intends to announce Google-branded handsets from Huawei and LG. This will be the first year that the Mountain View-based company has announced two phones simultaneously.
In previous years, Google has waited until late October to announce new phone hardware. Given that Android Police has also said an announcement is coming in September, it’s likely CNET’s report is accurate.
From previous leaks, we know that the LG-made Nexus will likely be a 5.2-inch device with a 1080p display, a Snapdragon 808 SoC, 3GB of RAM and a 2700mAh battery.
Huawei’s Nexus, which we know less about, reportedly includes a Snapdragon 810 processor and a 3,500mAh battery.
Both phones are said to feature a fingerprint scanner on their back and a USB Type-C port for connectivity.
