In the closing hours of IFA today, Chinese smartphone manufacturer Alcatel OneTouch announced the 5-inch Pop Star smartphone, the latest high-end budget phone in the company’s Pop lineup of devices.
The Pop Star seems focused on customization, offering consumers a variety of different backings for the device. Users can choose from a selection of “wild colours and psychedelic designs” in the Funky Collection or opt for a classic look with the Pop Star’s Leather Collection. And if you happen to be feeling environmentally friendly or clothing oriented, the Pop Star offers Nature-ECO wood and a Fashion Collection backing as well.
A 3G and 4G version of the phone comes equipped with a 1.0GHz Quad-Core (3G), 1.0GHz Quad-Core (4G), 2000mAh battery, 8 megapixel rear camera (an improvement over the 8 megapixel camera featured in past Pop devices), 5 megapixel front camera, 5-inch 720p HD IPS display, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage. The device will also run on Android 5.0 Lollipop.
