Sony is continuing its support of older Xperia devices by updating the Xperia Z1, Z Ultra and Z1 Compact smartphones with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop (build number 14.6.A.0.368).
The update is being pushed out on a regional basis with wide availability expected over the course of the next few days.
Sony recently announced the Xperia Z5 Premium (the first true 4K smartphone) and Xperia Z5. The company has also come under fire for back-peddling on claims its Xperia line of smartphones are waterproof.
Update – September 30th: We have received tips that the Xperia Z1, Z Ultra and Z1 Compact have received the update to 5.1.1 on Rogers, Bell, and Telus.
