Ready for the next BlackBerry to hit the retail shelves? So are we. The Android-powered BlackBerry ‘Venice’ has leaked numerous times, most recently by a Toronto-based Bell dealer who put the slider on video.
According to Evan Blass, BlackBerry will soon be shedding the code name of Venice, officially naming the Android slider BlackBerry Priv, a nod to the company’s privacy and security focus.
The device is expected to have a 5.4-inch QHD LCD screen, a Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB of RAM, an 18-megapixel camera, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, running Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with various BlackBerry enhancements.
BlackBerry will reportedly launch the QWERTY slider in November.
Update: A new rendering of the BlackBerry Priv has arrived. Evan Blass posted the image and once again confirms the QWERTY slider with dual curved edges and chrome accents.
