HTC was missing from Google’s Nexus event this year, but that didn’t stop the company from making an announcement of its own. The company will be unveiling a new Marshmallow-powered smartphone on October 20.
The official invite shows a large device with curved edges. Rumours have previously indicated that the company will unveil the One A9, which has been tipped to sport a 5-inch 1080p AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 617 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a 13MP rear camera with optical image stabilization, a 4MP front-facing Ultrapixel camera, a 2150mAh battery, a rear fingerprint sensor and a unibody metal build.
According to the invite, HTC says, “this is not your traditional smartphone so we aren’t hosting a traditional launch event. We will be unveiling the smartphone via a virtual event held at www.htc.com/launch at noon ET.”
