After a last minute delay in September, Rogers and Fido have once again started to roll out Android 5.1.1 to Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge smartphones.
Anyone that owns one of these two phones will want to update their device as soon as possible; 5.1.1 fixes many of the performance and stability issues that crept into the original release of Lollipop. The update also enables Voice Over LTE (VoLTE), and includes Samsung specific enhancements like more granular manual camera controls and enhanced security features.
The two carriers were forced to delay the rollout after an unspecified bug crept into the release.
The Android 5.1.1 update is also available for the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge on MTS.
