Starting on October 22, OnePlus will stop taking OnePlus 2 purchase reservations, the company announced today.
OnePlus hopes the move will enable the company to fulfill any remaining orders without manufacturing excess units.
“As production is ramping up, we want to ensure that as many people as possible who signed up get their invite, so we feel it’s in the best interest of our users to close the list and make sure that this happens,” says the company on its forum.
Anyone that’s already signed up for the reservation list will still receive their invite. However, it will no longer be possible to skip ahead other individuals in the line by sharing invites.
This is not the end of OnePlus’ invite system, however. Anyone that purchases a OnePlus 2 through the company’s e-commerce store will receive multiple invites that can be shared with friends and family members. Moreover, the company plans to host several invite giveaways in the near future.
