Wind Mobile adds another roaming partner, isn’t saying when its LTE network is launching

Wind Mobile has added yet another roaming partner, the company reported today.

Wind says that the new roaming arrangement, which allows its more than 800,000 customers to attach to networks outside the company’s own home zones, adds 292,000 square kilometres of additional coverage across the country.

While the company isn’t saying which carrier it has partnered with, by virtue of elimination it must be Bell. MobileSyrup previously reported that Wind partnered with Rogers and Telus, leaving Canada’s third-largest carrier as the likely suspect.

The company still isn’t commenting on when it plans to use its newly-obtained AWS spectrum to launch its own LTE network (likely later in 2016), but in the meantime its 3G coverage just received a nice boost across the country.
