The user-friendly but often slow-loading camera user interface featured in the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X is now available to all Android 6.0 Marshmallow users.
The latest update to Google’s first party camera app ports over the interface from the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X’s camera, adding the ability to swipe between various camera modes to any Android device that supports Marshmallow.
In Google’s latest app, users are able to swipe left to shoot video and right to capture still photos. The rear/front camera button has also been shifted beside the app’s shutter/record button and a quick link to Google Photos is present in the app as well.
The update is currently rolling out on the Play Store and is only supported by Android 6.0 devices. This means that if you’re still stuck on Lollipop or below, the old interface will remain.
