Suretap announces new president, has seen 500,000 downloads in the past five months

Today, suretap, at a “time of rapid growth,” announced that Almis Ledas will take over as President of the digital wallet company from Jeppe Dorff, who is departing for another role at an unnamed company. Ledas, who has held previous positions at Bell Mobility and is currently COO of EnStream, where he will maintain that role alongside this new one.

In June, Rogers expanded Suretap, its mobile wallet client, to be available to Bell, Telus, Virgin Mobile and Koodo customers. The service originally launched in April 2014 and allows Android and BlackBerry users to pay for small ticket items, use gift cards, and collect loyalty points from their mobile device.

Like EnStream, Suretap is jointly owned by Rogers, Bell and Telus. It has over 500,000 app downloads in the past five months.
