With less than a week to go until Christmas Day, this is one of the busiest times of the year at airports across the country. At Toronto’s Pearson International Airport, for instance, some 127,000 people are expected to pass through the airport’s two departure terminals per day on their way to see friends, family and, hopefully, warmer climates. It’s also one of the most expensive times of the year to travel, with some plane tickets being egregiously overpriced.
Thankfully, an app called Hopper can help you escape the frigid climate of Canada while also saving money. If you don’t mind traveling during off-peak times, the adorably designed app will find the point at which tickets to a particular destination are at their cheapest.
So say you want to travel to an exotic location like Barcelona or Bangkok, the app will look at flights several weeks and months in advance, and it will then advise you whether you should buy your tickets right away or whether you should wait. Should Hopper tell you to wait, it will send you a notification as soon as prices drop. You can also book a flight directly from the app.
Check out Hopper by downloading it from the Google Play Store or iTunes App Store.
