Last week, a couple of popular devices, the Moto X 2014 and HTC One M8, began receiving their Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates on Telus and Koodo. A number of other carriers, including Rogers and Bell, are expected to follow suit with updates to the One M8 (and in Rogers’ case, the Moto X) in the coming days.
Another big-name device, the LG G4, has recently been slated for an update to Marshmallow. According to Rogers’ OS update schedule, the LG G4 will receive Android 6.0 in late January, alongside the HTC One M9, which corroborates a date set by the OEM itself earlier in the month.
While LG’s flagship was technically the first non-Nexus device to receive Marshmallow, the North American rollout has been much slower. Sprint’s version began receiving the update over the weekend, but the Canadian model is likely lower on the priority list for the Korean company.
Only a month left before Marshmallow. In the meantime, it’s Christmastime, so eat a marshmallow or two, anyway.
