Lining up for the latest Apple device is stillĀ a common practice, though, with the launch of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s, the massive queues of a few years ago have dwindled due to the company’s new reservation system.
In an effort to make the purchasing process even easier, RBC has forged a partnership with Apple that allows customers to skip the line and use reward points for discounts on various Apple products.
RBC notes that customers who have signed up for the company’s rewards program can use points, or a combination points and a credit card, to purchase Apple products such as the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch or Macbook, from RBC Rewards’ website on the same day Apple launchesĀ a new device.
The number of points you have depends on what type of RBC credit card you own. For example, the bank’s Visa Infinite Avion and Signature RBC Rewards Visa grant one RBC Rewards point for each $1 spent, and both have an annual fee attached to them. The Gold Visa card has no annual fee, but gives one RBC Reward point for each $2 spent.
