“Unicorns are bleeding and Winter is Coming.”
That’s what one person told me after a busy week in Canadian tech. It was a week of layoffs, and Canadian companies selling to American companies or being sold for parts. It was also a week where Canadian companies also acquired American companies, and two major players – John Ruffolo and Tony Lacavera – committed to investing significant funds in Canadian companies to help keep them in Canada and compete globally.
