Back in May, Spotify announced Spotify Running, a tempo-matching feature designed to help its users power through a workout. Today, the company is partnering with Runkeeper, the popular fitness app, to improve the experience of using Spotify Running.
Moving forward, Runkeeper will be able to seamlessly track a user’s progress, even while they’re listening to a Spotify Playlist.
Currently only available on iOS (support for Android is coming soon, says Spotify), the feature needs to be enabled through Runkeeper. To do so, launch Runkeeper and select Spotify as the app’s source of music. Once the integration between the two apps is established, start Spotify and navigate to the Running section from the Browse menu.
Integration between the two apps is available to both premium and free users.
