To the surprise of many, Microsoft revealed earlier this week that the HoloLens developer will cost $3,000.
Understanding the obstacle this will present to a variety of developers, Microsoft plans to launch a HoloLens emulator, allowing programmers and content creators to use a virtual environment to work on a project.
The emulator, as well as Microsoft’s other developer tools, are set to launch on March 30, the shipping date for the first wave HoloLens developer kits.
Through HoloLens’ emulator, developers are able to test their apps in simulated rooms, as well as walk around utilizing keyboard commands, a mouse or Xbox controller.
