During Mobile World Congress, Alcatel — formally known as Alcatel One Touch — unveiled a number of new smartphones. Most notably, the company announced the 5.5-inch Idol 4S, which comes in packaging that doubles as a Google Cardboard VR headset.
While we’ve yet to hear from Alcatel when this Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow-powered smartphone will come to Canada, it seems the company is also working on bringing a similar smartphone to those more inclined to get a Windows 10 device.
According to reputable device leaker Evan Blass, Alcatel will launch a handset called the Idol 4 Pro, and it will run Microsoft’s Windows 10 Mobile OS. Unfortunately, no other details were revealed by Blass, including release date, internal specs or pricing.
For reference, the Idol 4S features a 1440 x 2560 pixel AMOLED screen, Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor, 16-megapixel camera, 32GB of storage and a 3000 mAh battery. Included with the phone are JBL J22 headphones.
