Fans of OnePlus have come to love the OxygenOS Android skin that ships with the OnePlus 2, but it isn’t stock Android. This means that even the diehard users of these phones have been patiently waiting several months for a release of OxygenOS that incorporates Android 6.0 Marshmallow’s features.
The company has been testing the release of OxygenOS 3.0 (the Marshmallow build) for a few weeks with a select group of users, but today, OnePlus is releasing a build intended for testers who don’t mind working through a few kinks and bugs before final release. OnePlus is looking for feedback on network and carrier compatibility and issues, camera improvements, and performance.
If you’re well versed in flashing builds of Android, you can follow the instructions in the OnePlus forum, and the company says updates to this build will be available over-the-air, so it won’t be too much of a hassle keeping things updated once the public release happens.
