We have the specs, and now we have a video to go with them.
Just one day before its release, a promotional video of the HTC 10 has made its way to YouTube.
The phone’s brushed aluminium back is nostalgic of the One M9, however, the dual front speakers, a trademark feature of the One series, seem to have been eliminated.
Rather, they’ve been replaced with a round finger sensor and the speaker grill has been moved to the bottom edge. Also found on the bottom of the phone is a USB-C port.
The video suggests that the phone will come in gold, silver and grey. The sharper angles of the HTC 10 distinguish it from its predecessors.
The HTC 10 also comes with two capacitive, backlit buttons, making it slightly resemble a Samsung Galaxy.
The phone is rumoured to run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The screen has a Quad HD resolution with a 5.1-inch display. Benchmark documents also revealed a 12 megapixel back-facing camera and a 5 megapixel front-facing camera.
HTC has yet to release a phone that generated as much excitement as the One M7, having fallen flat with the M8 and the M9.
According to Aaron Pressman of Fortune.com, HTC’s market share dropped to less than 2 per cent last year. Furthermore, revenue in February was down 55 per cent from that time last year.
The company has reached into the virtual reality space with the HTC Vive in the hopes of pulling out a comeback. HTC will be making its first announcement about the HTC 10 tomorrow at 8 a.m. EST.
