On Tuesday, Moments, Twitter’s curated take on the day’s events and news, launched in Canada. The Great White North is the fifth market in which Twitter has launched the new feature, following the U.S., Australia, the U.K. and Brazil.
Denoted by the lightning icon located at the top of the official app’s main screen (prior to being officially announced, Moments was codenamed Project Lightning), the section collects popular tweets, pictures, GIFs and tidbits and organizes them into five subsections (today, news, sports, entertainment and fun), making it easier for users to find the best of Twitter at a glance.
The San Francisco-based company hired former Toronto Star writer and senior editor Jennifer Wilson to manage Moments in Canada. As expected, much of the content found on Moments on its first day in Canada focused on this country’s seemingly endless winter.
While our own Ian Hardy filmed a Periscope session with Wilson and Twitter Canada Managing Director Rory Capern, I wandered the halls of the halls of the company’s Liberty Village outpost.
Below you’ll find some of the photos I took from that day. Enjoy.
