Facebook announced the global roll out of group calling in Messenger today and confirmed that the feature will be able to support calls of up to 50 friends.
The announcement was made via a Facebook post by VP of Messaging Products David Marcus. In the post, Marcus stated that the worldwide roll-out should be complete within just 24 hours for its over 900 million monthly active users on both iOS and Android devices.
Marcus’s post instructs that a group call can be initiated by tapping on the phone icon in any conversation group, and once the call has been initiated the individual participants can be managed in the next screen.
The feature is not currently available for video chat.
