Apple’s App Store officially launched July 9, 2008 and it now has over 2 million available apps to download.
This milestone news was announced by Apple CEO Tim Cook during his company’s keynote presentation at WWDC 2016. In addition, Apple stated there has been over 130 million app downloads from the App Store, which is an increase of 55 million from a year ago.
Finally, Cook stated that the App Store is a great way to start a business, emphasizing that Apple has paid out over $50 billion dollars to developers.
