Corporate security has become an objective of both large and small Canadian companies.
Shaw announced on Wednesday the launch of SmartSecurity, its network security service for small and medium sized businesses. This new service is powered by Cisco and gives businesses the ability to protect themselves from online threats.
“Network security is important to businesses of all sizes, however with more advanced online attacks on the rise, SMBs are looking for more sophisticated security solutions at a price they can afford. SmartSecurity provides the vital security resources and technical expertise needed to give customers peace-of-mind as they focus on growing their business,” said Ron McKenzie a senior vice president with Shaw in a statement sent to MobileSyrup.
The statement goes on to read that cybercrime is more prevalent today than it’s ever been before. SmartSecurity offers businesses a cloud-managed system that includes a business-grade firewall, threat protection, content control, application control, safeguard remote workers, secure multiple locations, safeguarding remote workers and securing multiple locations.
“Trends like remote working and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) have made the modern workplace more flexible, but also mean that security has never been more critical,” said Todd Nightingale, a senior vice president with Cisco Meraki in a statement.
“Businesses need to ensure employees are working securely and protecting sensitive data at all times and from all locations. An effective cloud-based solution helps businesses protect against today’s advanced security threats by providing proactive threat monitoring to discover and address security issues before they can impact the business.”
