At WWDC 2016, Apple said it would start providing song lyrics within Apple Music. It now seems Apple is actively hiring individuals to help build out the feature, with lyrics curation manager and lyrics curator positions appearing on the company’s website.
Both positions will be part of the company’s Content Curation team, and will be responsible for “maintaining the very best user experience possible around content.”
There’s not indication how big the eventual team will be, but Apple notes successful candidates will come with “3 years of relevant work experience.”
“We are responsible for filtering out the content our users don’t want, organizing the content they do want so it’s easy to find, and fixing, or sending back to our partners to fix when appropriate, anything that doesn’t match our style guide, resulting in immaculate media and metadata. We’re data driven and automation minded,” says th jobe description.
Apple plans to release iOS 10 this fall.
Google recently partnered with Toronto-based company LyricFind to display lyrics from more than 4000 music publishers in Google Search and Google Play Music.
