The Royal Bank of Canada has launched a new translation app it hopes will making banking easier for some of its customers. Available nationwide starting today at all of the bank’s branches, the app gives RBC customers real-time access to a trained translator via video conference call.
“It’s important that our clients can communicate with us in the most convenient way they choose. With a touch of a button, we can now bridge language barriers in branches from coast to coast — just one of the ways that RBC helps clients thrive every day,” said Kirk Dudtschak, executive vice-president of personal and commercial banking at RBC, in a statement issued to MobileSyrup. “We’re proud to continue to lead the way in providing accessible banking for our clients.”
At launch, the app supports 13 languages: Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, Polish, Somali, Arabic, Haitian Creole, Portuguese, Vietnamese, Hmong, Nepali, Russian and American Sign Language, with plans to support more languages in the future.
