It looks like there may be veracity to the recent battery explosion claims made by some Note 7 users, as Samsung has stated to Reuters that “Shipments of the Galaxy Note 7 are being delayed due to additional tests being conducted for product quality.”
Not long ago pictures surfaced on Chinese forum Baidu that showed a series of photos of what appears to be the Samsung Note 7 with evidence of an internal explosion all along its left-hand side. The user said it occurred while plugged in and charging. Meanwhile, a second Note 7 exploded in Korea, according to BusinessKorea.
Samsung, however, has not yet confirmed if this issue is the reason behind shipment delays, refraining from elaborating to Reuters what exactly it is testing and to what markets shipments are being delayed.
Previous to this issue, the brand had already stated that the Galaxy Note 7 is in high demand, receiving an ‘unprecedented’ number of preorders in Canada that could limit initial availability.
