Google has just released a new app anyone suffering from a bit of wanderlust will want to check out.
Essentially, a one-stop app for planning your next vacation, Trips is available starting today on iOS and Android.
The app’s marquee feature is the ability to generate daily itineraries around specific places users want to see while on a vacation. Once a user has told the app how much time they have to visit a specific locale (whether that be a morning, afternoon or entire day), Trips will suggest others nearby.
Alternatively, there are a number of prebuilt itineraries for more than 200 popular tourist destinations around the world.
If all of this sounds familiar, it’s because Google already built many of the features found in Trips into its search engine via Destinations, which it launched in Canada this past March.
That said, one major advantage of Trips has over Destinations is that users can download their entire trip itinerary directly to their smartphone, which should help with avoiding expensive roaming data fees while traveling abroad. Moreover, once you’ve signed into the app using your Gmail account, Trips will automatically pull flight, hotel, car and restaurant reservations from your email inbox and organize it within the app.
Download Trips from the Google Play Store or iTunes App Store.
