Twitter is testing out a feature called ‘Explore’ that replaces the ‘Moments’ tab in its iOS and Android apps. The new tab will combine the functionality of ‘Moments’ with trending topics and a search feature.
“As part of our continued efforts to make it easier to find what’s happening on Twitter, we’re testing a new tab for content discovery,” the company confirmed to Mashable.
The new feature began appearing for a subset of app users on October 12th. Testing features in this way is standard procedure for Twitter, which uses the process to gauge response to new app elements that are close to market-ready.
‘Moments’ came to Canada in April 2016 and is designed to make it easier for users to find the content they’re looking for on Twitter. Before ‘Moments,’ Twitter had a ‘Discover’ tab that highlighted popular tweets and accounts.
