The Zenfone 3 Deluxe’s Canadian debut has been cancelled, Asus representatives have confirmed to MobileSyrup.
The company had previously stated that the handset would make its way to Canada in early November for $669 CAD at Best Buy, Canada Computers, Memory Express, NCIX, Newegg.ca and Staples. Moreover, the device is in fact still showing up in listings on the Staples and NCIX websites.
The device is an upgraded version of the Asus Zenfone 3, which became available in September 2016 in Canada for $429.99. The 5.7-inch smartphone features a 2.15GHz Snapdragon 820 processor coupled with a 653MHz Adreno 530 GPU, 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Its rear-facing camera is Sony’s 23-megapixel IMX318 shooter with a f/2.0 lens.
The company’s Canadian spokespeople also let MobileSyrup know that while Canada is missing out on the Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe, American customers are missing out on the Asus Zenfone 3 and will only be able to purchase the Deluxe model.
It’s unclear why Asus has decided not to release the Zenfone 3 Deluxe in Canada.
