With the growing concerns around cyber bullying, parents are wondering where they can go for advice.
Facebook recently launched a new section in the platform’s Safety Centre called the Parent’s Portal to give parents an opportunity to further explore these issues.
The Parent’s Portal will include guides for parents about how Facebook works and tips for talking to their kids about staying safe online. In addition, parents can also use the portal to connect with safety experts from around the world.
In a statement released by Facebook, the company offered several safety tips to parents looking to watch out for their tech-savvy kids. Some of these include setting the same rules for online activities that one would apply for offline activities, being a good role model and discussing online activities with children early.
Facebook launched the Safety Centre in April of 2010 in response to the growth of cyberbullying and has since updated it regularly.
