LG to reportedly debut new K, X and Stylus phones at CES

LG is planning to debut several new phones at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January 2017, according to a report from prominent mobile tipster Evan Blass.

In a VentureBeat article, Blass reveals that the company will introduce multiple mid-range K -series phones at CES, as well as a new addition to its Stylus phablet series and an X-series variant called the LG X Calibur. Blass also notes that the second generation LG X power will be revealed at Mobile World Congress in February and March, 2017.

As for specs, citing marketing materials that reveal details about the upcoming devices, Blass says the LG Stylo 3 Plus (or Stylus Plus in the U.S.) reportedly features a 5.7-inch display, 32GB of internal storage, 3,200mAh battery, 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel selfie camera, fingerprint reader and rear-mounted buttons. It may ship beginning mid-February 2017.

The LG X Calibur represents a tougher variant of the LG X Power, replete with an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance and “military-standard” durability. The next-generation X Power is set to feature 5.5-inch HD display, a 4,500mAh battery, 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel wide-angle selfie cam. The X Calibur will reportedly start hitting shelves mid-March, joined by the X Power 2 at the end of April 2017.

The new LG K4, a previous version of which is available in Canada through carriers, will reportedly have a 4.7-inch display, 8-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera and 2,500mAh battery. It is expected to be available mid-January 2017.

Other K-series devices that are going to be debuted at CES but are not likely to come to Canada are the K10, K8 and K3. More information on those can be found in Blass’ original post.
