Following its recent acquisition of Pebble, Fibit has purchased yet another smartwatch manufacturer, though in this case, the company isn’t as well-known.
Windows Phone users will be familiar with Vector Watch considering it’s one of the few smartwatches to support the struggling operating system. In a blog post, Vector Watch revealed that the company is joining Fitbit.
“Today, we are happy to announce that the Vector Watch team and our software platform are joining Fitbit, the leader in the connected health and fitness market! We believe this is an important milestone as a moment when we will start building other new and amazing products, features and experiences, incorporating our unique technology and knowhow with Fitbit’s experience and global community.”
Vector says its line of smartwatches will continue to work, along with its popular Windows Phone app, at least for the foreseeable future.
With Fitbit purchasing both Pebble and now Vector Watch, it seems there is likely truth to the rumours that the fitness wearable company is working on a smartwatch.
Hopefully whatever the company is working on is better than the Fitbit Blaze.
