Nintendo has announced that Super Mario Run is coming to Android in March.
No specific release date was given, but Nintendo says that users can register on Google Play to be notified when the game becomes available to download.
The popular smartphone game released on iOS on December 15th, 2016.
Super Mario Run broke App Store records when it came out, with 40 million downloads in its first four days on the market. But within the first three weeks, only three percent of players paid to unlock the full game.
The Mario series’ traditional 2D platforming is streamlined in this mobile installment, with players tapping the screen to get the iconic plumber to jump while he runs forward automatically. A constant online connection is also required to play the game.
In other Nintendo mobile news, the company announced yesterday that Fire Emblem Heroes, a turn-based strategy game, will launch simultaneously on iOS and Android on February 2nd.
