Government agencies like police departments, healthcare agencies and safety organizations will be adopting a new emergency communications technology developed by SimplyCast Interactive Marketing.
The government of Canada is reportedly investing over $500,000 CAD in the Nova Scotia based firm to refine and commercialize EmergHub, a platform that will use SimplyCast’s existing technology.
EmergHub will let officials send messages simultaneously through text, email, telephone and social media to communicate during emergency situations.
“The Government of Canada invests in innovation and commercialization by supporting the research and development of new products, services and processes, and their commercialization in the marketplace,” said The Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of innovation, science and economic development, in a statement.
SimplyCast Interactive Marketing demonstrates the readiness of Canadian companies to participate in the global innovation race through the development of effective technologies that are helping to create a better tomorrow for all Canadians,” said Bains, who announced the investment.
The investment will go on to create eight full time commercialization jobs as well as 32 full-time positions in Halifax. The investment was made under ACOA’s Business Development Program, an organization that promoted small and medium-sized businesses to innovate products.
