Mayor Tory explains that the actions of the 9-1-1 Telecommunicators make the difference between life and death and these committed men and women deserve the appreciation and recognition of Torontonians for their dedicated service.
This week, however, isn’t the first time Torontonians have celebrated emergency responders. This is Mayor Tory’s third year making this proclamation, however, 2017 marks the first year that 9-1-1 Telecommunicators week goes from the Sunday to Saturday.
The week also coincides with the National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week for emergency respondents around Canada.
