Natsume and Rising Star Games have announced a new entry in the iconic Harvest Moon series.
The game, titled Harvest Moon Light of Hope, harkens back to the series’ simple, Super Nintendo roots, according to Natsume. Light of Hope puts the player in the role of a character whose ship has been struck by a monsoon during a voyage.
After drifting to a small harbour that’s been hit by the storm, it’s up to you to rebuild the town and revive its lighthouse by tending to livestock, growing crops and gathering various materials. Natsume says that the game will be playable at its E3 2017 booth for both the Nintendo Switch and PC. A PlayStation 4 version of the game is also in development.
With Harvest Moon’s spiritual successor Stardew Valley skyrocketing in popularity across all platforms, most notably the PC, it’s no surprise Natsume has opted to release the next entry in the series on desktop.
Harvest Moon: Light of Hope doesn’t have a solid release date yet.
