LG has announced that starting today, the LG G6 Plus is available in Canada through Quebec-regional carrier Vidéotron.
The carrier is offering the device at $49.95 CAD on a two-year contract with a monthly plan of $79.95 or more.
The arrival of the G6 Plus is a surprise reveal, considering LG previously told MobileSyrup the G6 Plus wouldn’t touch down in Canada.
The device offers two main improvements over the G6 — 128GB of base internal storage (expandable up to 2TB), rather than the 32GB of storage available in the original G6, and a 24-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC (the G6 didn’t have a Quad DAC in North American variants). Additionally, the G6 Plus is available in a unique ‘marine blue’ colour, rather than the G6’s ‘ice platinum’ and ‘astro black’ variants.
Other than that, the G6 Plus is identical to the G6. It features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset, 4GB of RAM and 5.7-inch 2880 x 1440 FullVision display.
The rear dual camera setup, too, is the same as the G6’s: a f/1.8, 71° 13-megapixel shooter paired with a f/2.4, 125° 13-megapixel wide angle shooter. It also stocks a 3,300mAh battery and is IP68 water and dust resistant.
The G6 Plus runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with the company’s UX 6.0 UI.
