Qualcomm has announced its latest Snapdragon premium tier chipset is the Snapdragon 845.
While the company didn’t provide many further details, it emphasized at the first day of its Snapdragon Tech Summit in Hawaii that the chipset would feature a strong focus on AI, imaging improvements and — naturally enough — more power.
The 845 is the successor to the 835, which featured in devices such as the Google Pixel 2 and Samsung Galaxy Note 8.
The chipset giant invited Samsung to the stage to announce it is the foundry partner for Qualcomm’s new chip. The processor is paired with the X20 LTE modem, which offers gigabit connectivity.
Qualcomm will detail more about its chip tomorrow at the Snapdragon Tech Summit.
