Move over Marshmallow — there’s a new most used Android dessert version in town.
That’s right, Nougat has risen to become the most broadly represented version of Android within the operating system. The latest Android distribution numbers from Google show Nougat runs on 28.5 percent of all Android devices. This just barely edges out Marshmallow, the previous OS version, at 28.1 percent. Now that’s progress.
But, lest we forget, Nougat is still one generation behind the current OS version, Oreo. That iteration of Android was first made available a little over six months ago, and has just now surpassed 1 percent representation across all Android devices. It now sits at 1.1 percent, a significant uptick from 0.7 percent measured last month.
The data was gathered over a seven-day period ending February 5th, 2018. For last month’s numbers, check here.
