Bell is now allowing Fibe TV app users to ‘Download & Go.’
Bell Fibe TV subscribers can now download their recordings to their iOS and Android devices and watch their content without Wi-Fi, according to a Bell spokesperson who contacted MobileSyrup via email.
It’s important to note that the ‘Download & Go’ feature is only available on mobile devices, and is not available through desktop.
Fibe TV subscribers will be able to download an unlimited numbers of recordings and, according to the Bell Fibe TV website, recordings are available for a maximum of 45 days.
While the service is only available to Fibe TV and Aliant TV subscribers using the Fibe TV app in Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada, downloads can be viewed from anywhere in the world.
Bell Fibe TV’s Download & Go feature is similar to Netflix’s ‘Download’ feature, which lets subscribers download content to view offline on Android and iOS devices.
There’s currently no word on whether or not Bell’s CraveTV paid streaming service will offer users a similar feature.
MobileSyrup has reached out to Bell for comment. This story will be updated with a response.
The Bell Fibe TV app is free-to-download on both Android and iOS.
