Uber has been operating in Regina since August of 2018. However, this is only its on-demand food delivery service Uber Eats.
Today, this all changes.
Uber Canada has announced that Regina will be its next expansion location as the ride-sharing service will be available today, officially at 3:00pm.
City council approved ride-sharing regulations, such as Uber and Lyft, back in February. In addition, the Council is demanding a report 1-year from today to see how the new ride-sharing service is benefiting the city.
This is the second location to go live with ride-sharing in the province. Uber began operating in Saskatoon on February 5th.
We will update this article with comment from Uber at 3:00pm.
