Bell’s outgoing CEO George Cope met with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to talk about connecting “more rural communities.”
In a July 17th tweet, Trudeau wrote: “Today in Montreal, I met with @Bell CEO George Cope about the work we’re doing to connect more rural communities to broadband & lower wireless costs for Canadians. Thanks for the meeting, George.”

MobileSyrup has reached out to Bell for more details on the meeting.
On June 26th, Cope announced he would be retiring as the CEO after almost 12 years.
The company’s current chief operating officer Mirko Bibic will take over leadership of Bell at the start of next year. Bibic has been with Bell since 2004 and was also present at the meeting with Trudeau.
