Leaked CAD images of Apple’s unannounced Apple Watch Pro are circulating online. The renders offer a fairly good look at the device ahead of its expected reveal this week during Apple’s September 7th ‘Far Out’ event.
Looking back at recent reports, the images align with previous leaks. The CAD images highlight a supposed new flat design, along with a “rugged” rugged look and an additional button.
The new physical button is shown to be located opposite the digital crown. The Digital Crown itself also seems to be slightly larger and more tactile. Above the new Digital Crown are three small holes, which are likely the Apple Watch Pro’s speakers.
The display itself appears to be completely flat, with more defined edges running across each side of the smartwatch. Prior reports indicate that the smartwatch may be available in a larger 47mm case size, though these renders show no indication of size.
The Apple Watch Pro is said to be more focused on providing use case benefits during athletic activities and sports. The rugged design should offer more durability thanks to its titanium casing, and the extra button could, in theory, make it easier to use the smartwatch while playing intensive sports or doing other more active activities. Additional rumoured features include longer battery life and a new Low Power Mode, all powered by an updated S8 chip.
The Apple Watch Pro could likely run at a premium as analysts expect the smartwatch to be sold for around $900 USD (approximately $1,138 CAD). The Apple Watch Pro is expected to be officially revealed on Wednesday, September 7th during Apple’s keynote.
