New Moto X coming October 1st for $100 on contract, $600 outright [Update: Bamboo version on October 31st]

The new Moto X will be available beginning tomorrow, October 1st, at TELUS stores and online for $100 on a 2-year term and $600 outright.

Motorola’s latest flagship will be exclusive to TELUS (for the time being), debuting in a soft-touch black colour with a white-and-bamboo version coming on October 31st alongside the Moto 360.

The Moto X, which we’ve extensively previewed, sports a 5.2-inch 1080p OLED display, a 2.5Ghz quad-core Snapdragon 801 chip, 2GB of RAM, 16GB storage, a 13MP camera, 4K video capture, a 2,300mAh battery and a lightly customized version of Android 4.4.4 KitKat.

The company also beefed up its feature offering this year, improving the popular Active Notification service (now called Moto Display) and Touchless Controls (now called Moto Voice) with customizable activation methods.
