Nexus 5 no longer available on Canadian Google Play Store

When the Nexus 6 came out, the fate of the Nexus 5 seemed up in the air. It became harder to get and was consistently out of stock on the Google Play Store. Google confirmed that the device would be available on Google Play and via select third-party retailers through Q1 of this year and the phone was restocked every month or so after that.

However, with just under three weeks left in the quarter, Google has changed the status of the Nexus 5 to ‘no longer available for sale.’ Android Police noted the change on the U.S. Play Store and MobileSyrup can confirm that the phone is no longer available on the Canadian Play Store either.

It launched in Canada on November 8th, 2013 through TELUS, Bell, Fido, Rogers, SaskTel, WIND, Koodo, Virgin and Videotron.
