Windows 10 will start arriving on existing Lumia devices sometime this December, according to a recent post on the official Microsoft Lumia Facebook page.
“Windows 10 is available on PCs and tablets now, and while Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL ship with Windows 10 for phones, broad availability of Windows 10 on other devices, including mobile phones, will begin rolling out in December,” says a comment the Microsoft Facebook team posted in response to a question about Windows 10 Mobile availability.
The news comes less than a day after Microsoft unveiled its first pair of Windows 10 Mobile flagship devices, the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL.
The same comment goes on to point people to the Microsoft website, which includes a full list of Lumia devices the company plans to update. Several of the listed devices have made their way to Canada in the past, including the Lumia 435, Lumia 535, Lumia 635 (1GB RAM variant), Lumia 640, Lumia 640 XL, Lumia 830. The major requirement is that the phone in question have at least 8 GB of internal storage.
December is a couple months away but the update, as usual, are subject to carrier approval.
