Ubisoft’s Eagle Flight takes to the sky in virtual reality

In a title that seems inspired by its own Assassin’s Creed series, Ubisoft plans to release a VR game that will allow players to take to the skies as an eagle flying over Paris.

In Ubisoft’s Eagle Flight, players nosedive between buildings and pull back up into the sky, with a sense of speed and freedom the company says is only possible with virtual reality. The game is set to be available for the Oculus Rift, PlayStation VR and HTC Vive.

Although a specific release date hasn’t been revealed yet, Ubisoft says Eagle Flight is set to arrive at some point in 2016.

With the final release dates for a variety of virtual reality devices looming on the horizon, we’re finally starting to get glimpses of what full-fledged VR experiences will look like. It will be interesting to see how developers intend to use the technology to create larger gaming experiences.
