Video: Bell Samsung Omnia II Unboxed

bell-omnia-IIWe first heard about the Omnia II at the Samsung Reclaim launch and we have finally got our hands on the recently released Bell Samsung Omnia II (this is also the device that’s been hailed as the “Official Mobile Device of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games”).

We’ve done a quick unboxing and am impressed so far, especially as this is the first device in Canada to run Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional. The Omnia II uses Samsung’s customizable TouchWiz UI and at first glance this looks to be an incredible piece of technology. The of specs and features are longer than a kid’s Christmas list. You’ll see the Omnia II has a 800Mhz processor, has internal memory of 16 GB and can hold up to 32 GB with a microSDHC card. The 3.7-inch AMOLED display is massive and has a resolution is 480×800. Overall dimensions are 118 x 59.6 x 12.3mm and if that’s not good enough the device only weighs in at 123 grams. The battery life will probably last about 10 hours as it comes with a 1500 mAh battery.

Other features are the 5 megapixel camera with dual flash that also the capability of taking DVD quality videos, plus it has a front-facing camera for video calling, WiFi, Opera Mobile 9.5 Browser, GPS, Email, Text, picture, and video messaging, MP3 player, 3.5mm headset jack, Microsoft Office Mobile, QWERTY keyboard option, Bluetooth 2.0.

Check out the unboxing here and we’ll have a review up shortly:
