Google launches free mobile Doodle Fruit Games for the 2016 Rio Olympics

Most people know that the 2016 Rio Olympics begin today, but fewer know that another major world sporting event is beginning at the same time: the 2016 Doodle Fruit Games.

Google has announced that for the next few weeks in the Google App for iOS and Android it will be offering free fruit-themed mobile games, beginning with a racing game in which users play as a strawberry being chased by a watermelon. Next users will play as a lemon that has to avoid ice cubes as it swims through a pool.

For those who don’t already have the Google app, the quickest way to get it is by visiting g.co/fruit. Once on the app, all users have to do is tap the doodle to play the current game.
