OpenTable redesigns Android app, brings new Discover home screen to users

OpenTable, a popular platform for online restaurant booking owned by Priceline, has announced a major redesign to its Android app.

Currently rolling out to Canadians, OpenTable for Android builds off the iPhone version of the app’s discover home screen. The discover portion of the app displays the latest dining hotspots based on availability, popularity, proximity and personal favourites.

In addition, OpenTable has also enabled a new feature called “OpenTable Insider Picks,” that adds industry expert curated restaurants.

New categories in OpenTable include New & Hot, Most Popular, My Favourites, Special Features, Near Me Now, Dinner Tonight, and Editorial Picks.

Since its creation in 1998, OpenTable has seated over 1 billion diners around the world and more than 45 million in Canada.
